Quit making books into movies!!!!!

I have been reading about a possible Hunger Games movie. I am absolutely horrified at this prospect. Movies made from books are just poor excuses to make money. They are never what I hope they will be. The Hunger Games is one of my absolute, all-time favorites and if there is a movie of it, .... well, I can't even think about it.

End of the school year

Well, it is the end of another school year.

Graduation!!!!!

Today, we went shopping for graduation clothes for A. I refuse to believe the day is so quickly approaching. She will be graduating from seminary Thursday May 21st and high school Friday May 22nd. A is nothing if not fashionable in a very grown-up, ladylike way, so we have spent the past year (seriously! ever since her prom last year) scouring the web, magazines and stores for the perfect ensembles for these events. For seminary graduation, she finally settled on a satin abstract pattern dress with blues, purples, and greys in it. The dress is sleeveless so it will be worn with a short, purple sweater she already owns. She will also pair it with shiny black Gianni Bini pumps with a shiny grey stone embellishment at the toe and a strand of (faux) tahitian pearls. She looks GORGEOUS in it! I feel very lucky to have found it. Her eyes just lit up when she saw it and we both knew it was perfect. It is part of the Simply Vera: Vera Wang collection for spring at Kohl's and was on sale for about $55. For high school graduation, she has decided to ditch the dress in favor of black dress pants and a black and white striped and textured top (very French-looking). She will wear the same pumps with this outfit. She decided to go with pants because the gowns worn for graduation seem to hit every leg at exactly the least flattering spot and dresses cannot be seen beneath them anyway. I'll include pictures. My new blog

This blog is being created partially because of peer pressure. All my friends have blogs (you know who you are!) It will be a work in progress. I am starting this weekend and, as I don't work in the summer, I plan to have a lot of fun with it then.
